Childrens' Prayers

Teaching children to pray does not have to be difficult

but a simple way of letting them know why and how to communicate with God. Pray with your children. Show them that simple conversations with God are the best. Help children to understand that they do not have to use big, fancy words and long prayers for God to understand their hearts.

MORNING PRAYER

Dear God, before I start this day

Please don’t let me forget to say

This little prayer of thanks to You

For keeping me the whole night through. Amen.

THANK YOU, GOD

Thank you God, for giving me

A kind and loving family.

Friends who make the world so fair

Food to eat and clothes to wear.

Thank you for the gentle breeze

That blows through green and leafy trees.

For skies of blue and birds that sing

Thank you, God, for everything. Amen.

HELP ME LEARN

Help me, God, to learn each day

A little more about you.

And then no matter where I go

I'll never be without you.

GOD BLESS MY HOME

Bless those I love and who love me

Keep my home and country free.

Stay beside us every day

And guide us always in your way. Amen.

GOD HEAR MY PRAYER

God in heaven hear my prayer,
Keep me in your loving care.
Be my guide in all I do,
Bless all those who love me too.
Amen.

A CHILD’S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help me be

A child who's good and sweet.

And let me say kind words today

To everyone I meet. Amen.

CHILD’S GRACE

Bless me as I bow my head

And thank you for my daily bread. Amen.

GOOD NIGHT PRAYER

Now the day is over

And I kneel beside my bed

To ask you, God, to keep me safe

Throughout the night ahead. Amen.
